Flights to Amsterdam
How to find flights to AmsterdamAmsterdam is an important hub for flying within Europe and to long-haul destinations, including the Caribbean. There are plenty of flights to Amsterdam available from everywhere in the world.
The city’s well known airport is Schiphol Airport, well known for being awarded "Best Airport in the World" seven times since 1980. It’s also one of those airports where thing (usually) work as planned. The airport receives flights to Amsterdam from plenty of European cities, as well as from the rest of the world. The airport is the home base for KLM Airlines, Martinair, Transavia and Northwest Airlines for handling their European flights. Several low-cost carriers also fly directly into Amsterdam which means there are plenty of possibilities to find a cheap ticket when flying here.
You won’t get bored if you have to spend some time in the airport. There are plenty of shopping halls and restaurants and even a mini-museum.To get from the airport to the city center you have three options: taxi, shuttle bus and train. The train is clearly the cheapest alternative. There are trains leaving every 10 minutes and the fare is only €3.60 each way. You can get pretty much anywhere in the city by train. If you booked your hotel in advance you might want to check if there is a shuttle connecting it to the airport. The shuttles follow their routes connecting most of the larger hotels to the airport. The fare is €12 one way (or €19 if you buy a round trip ticket).
